I have worked with job seekers over many years now and helped them overcome the hurdles at the different stages of the job search process.

I have also been on the recruiting side of the table, so I understand what employers are looking for when they set out to take on new staff.

It is one thing to work out what you really want to do. But you then have to turn it into reality. There are still many pitfalls for the unwary.

My Job Search Programme has been designed for you if you know what kind of job you are looking for but just need help in managing the actual job search process.

The programme will help you to develop a clear career action plan. Together we will concentrate on getting you successfully through the process of finding job opportunities, making successful applications, performing well at interview and then starting in your new dream career!

The Job Search Programme

The Job Search Programme consists of three 1 hour coaching sessions, each one focusing on a different aspect of the job search process.

Session One - Job Search Tactics

Many people think searching for a job means a quick scan thro the Situations Vacant columns or a skim through some vacancy sites on the web. Sure, these can help, but to really uncover the jobs you are looking for, you need to throw the net more widely. I can help you make use of all the different job search strategies, including social media and help you keep motivated till you get the job you are looking for.

Session Two - Your CV and/or Application Form

Your CV is your 'first impression' on a potential employer. So you just have to get it right I will be your guide to writing a CV. Together we can make sure that your CV has real impact, targeting the specific job and area of work you are aiming for and highlighting your own key strengths.

Application forms sometimes seem a lot simpler than than CVs – you just fill in the boxes...? But then you reach the blank page at the end which asks 'What makes you a strong candidate for this post?'. Gulp! What on earth do I put her to fill up this big white space? I can help you really use this space to your advantage so that employers can see how you meet their needs – and they really want to meet you to find out more!.

Session Three - Successful Interviews

So you have got the interview – fantastic news! But the interview feels like even more of a hurdle. The key to success at this stage is preparation. As your job search guide, I coach you through the preparation process. This means you know exactly how you are going to sell yourself effectively at interview. We can then practice the interview itself so you have a chance to rehearse your responses to the most likely questions.
