How Can I Help?
Career change is not usually achieved overnight. Depending on the kind of change you decide to make, it can take quite some time to plan and implement. But with the right career change coaching, you can make it happen. Having worked with many career changers, I have seen a pattern emerge which can give you a great structure to ensure that your career change keeps on track. I have called it my Career Change Blueprint. It looks like this:
As you can see, there are 5 key elements in the Career Change Blueprint. At the centre, the core of the process involves: Exploring who you are Who am I? What makes me tick? What are my key values in work and in life? What am I good at? What is my underlying personal style and how does that impact on the kind of work that will be right for me? Where do my interests really lie? My work so far. What jobs have I done already? What worked for me and what didn’t? What can I learn about my own priorities from my work experience to date? What are the achievements I am most proud of – both at work and in my life? What do I really want? What are my priorities in life? What am I passionate about? What do I want to look back on when I retire? What would my ideal work look like? And my ideal life?
Exploring opportunities What are the possibilities out there? What is available to me? What career ideas could I consider? What do I want to do that I maybe think is impossible? How could I make it possible? What job opportunities are worth exploring? How will I research these? How do I break into these areas? Who can help me to find out more?
Taking action How do I make my career choice? How do I weigh up the pros and cons of the various options? What do I do now? How do I work out the steps to reach this career goal I have set myself?
Mindset This is the foundation stone which underpins your career change plans. What is your attitude to change? What beliefs do you hold about your abilities and about what work is all about? What are the assumptions you are making before you even begin your career change journey? If you do not take account of these foundation stones, you may find you consciously or unconsciously sabotage yourself every time you try to break free, so you need to take some time to explore the underlying beliefs that may be helping – or hindering your progress.
Motivation Let's be honest, however committed you are to your career change, there will be occasions when your motivation wavers. You're only human after all! So I have included a section on Motivation which focuses on the issues that can undermine your motivation and the strategies you can use to keep yourself on track.
To stand any chance of success, all these elements need to be covered. The career change coaching that I have built into my Career Change Blueprint Programme ensures that you tackle the issue from all angles.
And There's More...
The Career Change Blueprint Programme also includes carefully selected assessments to underpin and complement the exercises I give you to work on between each coaching session. So altogether, they offer a comprehensive and detailed strategy for successful career change.

Individual Career Coaching
For some people, the structure of a planned programme works really well, but I recognise that others may prefer a more flexible approach. So meet the needs of all my clients, I also offer career change coaching on a more open ended basis. I recommend a mimimum of 3 months if you are tackling something major like career change. We can arrange to meet twice or three times per month to review your career change plans and the progress you are making. We use the coaching time we have together to work on the particular issues and challenges you face in relation to career change and this can involve using some of the exercises in the Career Change Blueprint. You may also wish to take some of the formal assessments too to help you with your career change plans. As always with coaching, the results you get are created collaboratively as we work together.
